44890 RhB Container Car

44890 RhB Container Car

Even though it is a relatively small railroad, Switzerland’s Rhätische Bahn is still very modern, employing increasing numbers and types of container cars. In addition to conventional containers, the line uses refrigerated “Kühlcontainer” containers for perishable foods. Now you can add the first “Cooltainer” in the LGB program to your own roster of RhB container cars. With authentic livery, it’s a must for any modern RhB layout.

While Amtrak symbolizes modern passenger service in the United States, the railroad also has freight cars on its roster. This LGB model replicates one of those cars in Amtrak's “Phase III” livery. It fits with the LGB Genesis diesel loco in Phase III livery (LGB 20490). The large, sliding doors open for loading mail, baggage and other freight.

DR Flatcar w/Stakes

45000 DR Flatcar with Stakes

Stake cars are found on many narrow gauge railways. Usually, they are used to transport timber, but other large freight can be transported on these cars as well. You can even use this model as a boom car for the MOW crane car (45420). The LGB model is lettered for the Deutsche Reichsbahn, and loaded or empty, this small stake car brings variety to your freight trains.

LGB SF Ore cars 45040

45040 Santa Fe Ore Car, 4 pieces

The Santa Fe merged with the Burlington Northern to form the BNSF giant in 1995, but ""Santa Fe"" marked cars are still a common sight. Each of the ore cars in this big set has a different car number, and each is equipped with a working unloading mechanism. Also, short drawbar couplers are included with the set so you can create an authentic “mini-quad” of closely coupled cars.

Cement SIlo LGB 45254

LGB RhB Cement SIlo car 45254
The Rhätische Bahn possesses a multiplicity of cement silo cars, which can be found everywhere on this well-known narrow-gauge network. However, these standard “Mohrenkopf” wagons differ in detail and color, and this model offers a new variation for authentic RhB layouts. With it, the signals are set to “go” for cement traffic on your LGB layout

With this new model, we have responded to the requests of LGB friends who have asked for new variations of the Rhätische Bahn’s popular silo cars. Of course, the numbering and lettering of this car is authentic, but we have also made mold changes to faithfully reproduce the original. It’s an essential addition to your roster of LGB RhB “Mohrenköpf” wagons.

45823 LGB hopper

45823 Hostess Center Flow Hopper

The Hostess® brand got its start in Indianapolis in 1925 with the popular, new “Wonder®” bread. The brand grew to include many other baked goods and treats, and as part of the U.S. bicentennial celebration in 1976, the company commissioned an ACFX hopper decorated with its brand names and bold bicentennial colors. With working loading and unloading hatches, it’s an authentic addition to your American consists.

Estimated delivery date: Sept 2006

45650 CN Ore Car

46040 CN Ore Car

The Canadian National railroad uses short, four-axle cars like these for transporting bulk materials, and the LGB model accurately reproduces fine details in the original, including the hand wheels, steps and ladders. You can easily see the authentic CN logo, but look closer and you'll find a working unloading mechanism.

46810 RhB Freight Car

For Switzerland’s Rhätische Bahn, the postal service is its most important freight customer, and until their recent replacement by container cars, these typical four-wheel wagons were the chosen carriers of postal traffic. The opening doors on this LGB model let you load and carry the mail on your own RhB layout.

LGB of America announced that it will proceed with plans to produce its own G-scale trains and accessories. LGBoA also announced that its existing inventories of LGB products are generally very good and that it is working with many long-time LGB suppliers on its production efforts.

“Our constant goal is to provide consumers with the quality LGB products they want,” said Tony Castellano, President of LGB of America. “We purchased a tremendous amount of LGB before production ended at Lehmann. We have already announced our new ‘USRA 0-6-0’ loco, and we plan to have fresh inventory before the start of the holiday selling season.”
