G scale is the largest size. Many people will use this size for overhead, ceiling type systems or their garden railway. It is also used for a Christmas train set. The most popular G scale manfacturer is LGB, which is made in Germany. The quality in the LGB sets is wonderful! This is a great set for younger children and adults.
The next size is O scale. This size is commonly used for under the tree sets and overhead systems. This size usually has die cast engines and will last a lifetime. The sound systems in the O scale have become significantly improved in the past few years. There are accessories available for this scale and it is a popular scale for children and adults.
The next size down is the HO scale. This size is a very popular size with many accessories. It is the size that many model railroaders will have in their homes. This size is not recommended for children under 8 years of age. It is more fragile that the 2 larger scales. It generally offers more scenery and building variey that the two larger scales.
The next size in N scale. This is great for tiny layouts. Not recommended for Children.
There is a scale smaller than the N scale and that is Z scale. Legacy Station does not carry Z scaled Products. Z scale is great for tiny layouts but does not offer the variey of the HO Scale in products.
